MIDI Learn
In busy studio environments and during live performances, MIDI control surfaces and other MIDI-enabled hardware devices are often preferable to using a mouse.
However, it can be time-consuming or downright tricky to map on-screen controls to their corresponding physical controls.
db audioware's MIDI Learn feature is easy to use. You can map any on-screen knob, slider or switch to a physical control in just 2 steps!
How To Use MIDI Learn
| For MIDI Learn to work, your host program must be capable of sending MIDI information to effect plug-ins. |
|
STEP 1 Right-click (or control-click in OS X) on any on-screen control, and select Learn in the pop-up menu. |
|
|
STEP 2 Move a knob or slider on your MIDI control surface. |
|
That's all there is to it! Now, when you move the physical control, the corresponding on-screen control moves as well.
And, when you use MIDI Learn in your host program, the mappings are saved with your song, ready for next time.
MIDI Learn & Quantum FX
MIDI Learn has a useful bonus for Quantum FX Workbench users. If you use MIDI Learn in the Workbench, your mappings are saved as defaults for the effect you are developing. So when you load that effect into your host program, your default MIDI mappings are ready to go!
